Services, FAQ's and Prices

What does Hanover Pet Services offer?

I offer in-home care for your cat while you're away from home. This can be for any length of time and I'm more than happy to cater for last minute emergencies.

What is the procedure?

I begin the journey with each new client by coming to meet you and your furry family about a week before you are due to leave. This is to ensure that I have the most up to date information about your cat(s). During that first visit I learn all about what makes your cat unique, their habits, diets, needs and their routine. I write up detailed notes of everything I learn during that visit and I will share a copy of those notes with you before you go so you can rest assured that your cat will be getting the care that they need while you're away.

It's ideal I visit you at least once before you leave as it gives you and your cat the chance to get to know me as well as me getting to know you and it lays the foundation of trust between us. It's also beneficial for cats that are particularly worried about meeting new people.

My cat is anxious, how do you look after anxious cats?

Every sit that I do is tailored to each individual cat. The care I give them will be different to the care I give a more confident cat. Some cats like the company of a warm body in the house but not fuss, others love your full attention and some really just want to be left alone. I allow the cat themselves to set the pace of our visits and as long as I can see that they're healthy and well, I'm happy! For those of a more sensitive nature, I sit quietly and allow them to come to me, not chase or harass them. I tend to sit quietly with my attention on a book and allow them the chance to assess me on their terms and we build our relationship from there. My relationship with your cat will be very different to their relationship with you, so something they might do with you, they might not do with me and vice versa.

What does each visit entail?

Each visit is includes feeding, changing their water and doing any litter tray duties. In addition to the basics I also aim to stay between 30-60 minutes. I believe providing your cat with some company and playing with them is just as important as feeding them is. It gives me the opportunity to give them a once over and assess how they are adjusting to you being away.

How many visits do you make per day?

I make either one or two visits per day. I try to stick to your cats normal routine to provide as much comfort to them as possible whilst you are away. These are some of the details I will take down during our introductory meeting.

if you require more than two visits per day or need me to stay longer than an hour, I charge an extra £4.00 ontop of the standard visit price.

Do you administer medication?

Yes, absolutely! I have experience with medicating cats with pills, liquids and injectable substances such as Insulin. In addition to medication, I also practice basic feline first aid.

If the weather is unbelievably hot, your cat has an illness like Diabetes, or they're elderly, in addition to making two visits a day I will also provide a third visit for free throughout the day to ensure your cat is well and that they still have enough water to last them the rest of the day.

Do you housesit?

Yes, I'm more than happy to housesit. Sometimes this is the best way to look after anxious cats or those that are used to having a little more company than they may get while you're away.

Can I use camera's to check up on my cat?

Absolutely! I understand that being away from your cat can be a very anxious time and I endorse the use of cameras so you can check that your little ones are okay in between visits. The use of cameras protect both yourself, your cat and me.

Price Tariffs

There are two price tariffs for my visits for those inside and outside of Hanover. The price difference is to reflect petrol prices whilst also taking note of minimum wage based on an hours visit. These can be found below:

Location of Visit Price
Within Hanover £8.00 per visit
Outside Hanover £10.00 per visit

Key Storage and Return

Keys are kept safely locked in a secure key safe in between visits. Once my last visit with you has been carried out, I will return your keys once I know you are home from your holiday. This is to make sure that I can make additional visits and a method of getting back into the property if you are delayed or lose your keys while away.

Do you do anything else while you're visiting?

Absolutely, I'm more than happy to water any plants and feed your fish too!

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
